Our mission is simple: To provide materials and programs for members of the community for educational, informational and recreational use.

 

The Delevan-Yokrshire Public library is located at 28 School Street in the Village of Delevan, NY. It is chartered by the New York State Education Department to serve the population of the Village of Delevan and the Town of Yorkshire, population 4210.


The Library has books, magazines, audio books (on CD's and cassettes) movies (in DVD& VHS formats), and puzzles available for loan for users of all ages.


Library card holders may also borrow e-book titles in reader or audio formats for tablets, smart phones and other electronic devices.

Mon, Feb 19, 4-8 pm: Pizza Hut Fund-raiser Night at Yorkshire Restaurant. Eat-in or carry-out, and fill out the check form when  you cash out. Twenty percent of your meal purchase will be donated to the library. Thanks for supporting the Library.


Tues, Feb 20; 3 pm: Movie Matinee in the Anderson Community Room. Showing "Secret Life of Pets". Free popcorn & snacks.


Wed, Feb 21, 5-8 pm T.A.S.C. (Test Assessing Secondary Skills, formerly G.E.D.) class meets in the Anderson Community Room with an instructor from BOCES.


Wed, Feb 21, 4 pm: DYPL Board of Trustees meeting in the Anderson Community Room.


Thurs, Feb 22; 3 pm: Movie Matinee in the Anderson Community Room. Showing "Flushed Away". Free popcorn & snacks.

Sat, Feb 24; 9am-1pm: Last day to shop at theScholastic Book Fairin the Anderson Community Room.

Thurs, March 8, 7 pm, KS Society Meeting in the Anderson Community Room.


Sat, March 10, 9am - 5 pm: Scrap, Craft & Chat Club meets in the Anderson Community Room. Come spend an hour or the whole day working on your favorite project in the company of other crafters. Share a potluck Brunch around 1 p.m., snacks, craft ideas and tips. Need room to work on your scrapbook or other crafts? Then we'd love to have you join us. Bring your own scrap-booking or craft project to work on. Bring a dish to  pass and your own place setting for the Potluck Brunch. Reservations required-call the Library: 716-492-1961.

Holiday Closings for 2018: New Year's Day,Tues, Jan 1; Memorial Day Weekend, Sat-Mon, May 26-28,  Independence Day, Wed, July 4th; Labor Day Weekend, Sat-Mon, Sept 1-3; Thanksgiving Weekend, Thurs-Sun, Nov 22-26; Christmas, Sun-Wed, Dec 23-26; and New Year's, Sat-Tues, Dec 29 - Jan 1.

The Library will be OPEN on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Mon, Jan 15; Presidents' Day, Mon, Feb 19; Good Friday, March 30;  Columbus Day, Mon, Oct 8; and Veterans Day, Nov 12.

Gwen Bixby joined the Library as Director in March 2007. She shares her love of reading and life-long learning by selecting materials and planning programs for toddlers to adults.
